I am still figuring out where I want to go with the damned layout of this thing. I want to customize it, but my lord, LJ makes it a real pain in the ass to get what I'm looking for. I figured I could just bump around a few chunks of HTML and what not, but it's not that easy. Hopefully one of these days this thing will embody my own style with some amount of usability geared towards ya'll.

Gear for Sale
I have a bunch of audio and computer gear for sale.  I'd prefer to sell it to friends, so I'll give all ya'll first crack before I have to throw it on Craigs List:

Music Gear For Sale
I just upgraded my audio interface, so I'm selling my old one.

It is a MOTU 896 firewire interface; 8 mic pre's (that are also dual use as 1/4" inputs), 8 XLR out, AES i/o, ADAT i/o (and ADAT sync), coax clock sync i/o, XLR L/R main outs, etc.  This is the first version, not the current HD that they have out there, so no CueMix built in.

Let me know if you are interested.  I think it's worth about $500, but I haven't double checked.

Here is a Sound on Sound article about the 896 (since MOTU's site only has info on the current model):

Oh, I also have a MOTU 2408 (version 1) PCI interface.  Probably part with that thing for pretty damned cheap.

Bass PODpro
I ordered the Line6 Gearbox Gold Edition today and therefore can get rid of both of my PODpros. I'm still deciding what to do with my guitar POD, but I am putting my Bass PODpro out for sale. This is the non-XT rack mount version. It looks like this:

I'll let it go for $250.

I also have a floor board pedal you can use with it:

The wah pedal is not working, but this is only due to a blown capacitor which could be easily replaced. Not to mention the fact that you probably aren't going to use the wah function when you are playing bass. I have barely used the floor board at all. I can throw it in for another $100.

Let me know if you or anyone you know may be interested.

NOTE: All pictures above are stolen off the net. I haven't taken pics of the gear myself yet. The bass PODpro has been living in my rack for years and I still have all the packaging for the pedal baord.

Gear Lust
For anyone out there that has money to spare for their audio gear, I suggest you check this out:

Drawmer 1969

I stumbled upon this sale listing while looking through the clearance items on musiciansfriend.com. This is the dual mic pre/comp I own. It is just fucking amazing. It usually sells for about $3k, but is on sale for $2350. Figure I would pass on this apparently sweet deal to anyone out there looking for a posh comp/pre. I love this thing!

This is the Mercenary Audio moded version of the Drawmer 1960. Here is the info stolen from their website:

Based on the Drawmer 1960, (not really, it just looks like the 1960…sorta), the 1969 employs an entirely new topology for lower noise and improved depth of tone and clarity. Pretty much, all we kept from the original 1960 were the meters, connectors, and power transformer… everything else is different. The stuff with the 'gold' screen is the stuff we did...the rest is from the original.

Line6
I am contemplating getting a Line6 USB Guitar Direct Box with the Gear Box plug-in instead of upgrading my PODpro to the PODxt-pro.  Anyone have any experience with the plug-in?  Is it basically the same exact thing as using the PODxt for recording?

If I do get it, part of me wants to sell the PODpro, but then again, I may end up playing live at some point where I could really use it.

The notion of finally moving all my guitar amp simulation from a hardware interface into my software as a plugin makes me jitter with please.
